Schloss Hellbrunn and Werfen

before leaving Salzburg we still had time for a quick visit to Schloss Hellbrunn .. it looks more like a manor than actually a palace, but the gardens were nice and very well kept (like every other place else we visited, actually)

oh, and a quick note to say that we loved the guesthouse we stayed at near Salzburg. It's called Gasthof Schorn, and it's located in St. Leonhard, about 10 km from the town centre. A lovely place, the rooms were spacious and the food excellent !

there was a pumpkin sale right across the street

After leaving Salzburg on our way to Vienna, we decided to stop in Werfen (not exactly on the way, but we thought it was worth the detour ;-) It's famous because of its castle, and for having the world's greatest ice caves ... a small advice to anyone who is considering to go there: it's really, really cold inside the cave, almost to freezing temperature, so take warm clothing !
