A must for anyone with kids visiting Chamonix or anywhere nearby: visit the Parc Animalier de Merlet, near Houches. The views are stunning (see photos below) and spotting the animals who are roaming freely is sure to be a success with any toddler. The café/restaurant inside is also nice and provides comforting traditional meals (and a couple of children menus) so it's a great way to spend a foggy or rainy morning like the one we had that day.
