hello from Brasil

Just a quick post to say hi, and to let everyone know I'm currently in São Paulo on business, so don't expect a lot of posting during the next couple of weeks.

I did manage to take a few pics of finished items before I came, so I'll share those soon, but in the meantime here's my progress on the ripple and the granny squares...

I have exactly 7 of these finished squares right now, and I need 49.



And the rippling is going s-l-o-w-l-y but steadily



It just looks so pretty with all the colors combined



(by the way, thanks for all the comments on the felted sweater. I'm definitely going to re-use it for something, probably for the dolls. And A. is in Seoul right now - there's a 12 hour difference between us - so not only is he forgiven, but I already miss him terribly)

Hi there, please meet Berry (red kitty), Mabel (bunny) and Petal (green kitty), my new batch of softies.

I'm really enjoying making these, there's something magical about making softies for me ... you don't get to really see it until it's almost done, and then that magical point when you finish applying the last touches and the whole thing just comes to life, it always surprises me. Plus, they give me a chance to finally use some of that trim stash and all the lovely wool fabrics I've been hoarding lately.

a full weekend

wow, thanks for all the bedroom love, here and at flickr. You've probably noticed already that I played with the blog template a bit. Just felt it was time for a change around here... I'll probably miss the William Morris flowers but this cleaner look seems to suit me better.

We had a full weekend, not much to say but here are a few photos:

corners of my home: the bedroom

I've always loved this flickr group. I love browsing through other people's home photos and find inspiration for my own. I love looking at special corners like this this and this (check the cute hello kitty sewing machine), for the same reason I'm obsessed with interior design magazines and have a stack of them on the living room.

Anyway, I thought I'd share here my part of special corners in our house, if only because I love taking photos of spaces and this is such a good excuse.

This is not so much a 'corner' but it's actually our entire bedroom. Quite simple and a bit zen like ... Ahh, can you feel how relaxed I get whenever I go in there ? I especially love the sunlight in this room every afternoon (and apparently the cats do too, since it's their favorite spot for a nap)

The bed is from Design Futon, and it was our first and only choice. I love it, and it's just so comfortable.
